Week 1 of year 2 and I’m already freaking out and having meltdowns (and breakouts if you look at my chin). Hooray to the rarely-seen side effects of ITP.

For our first assignment, we needed to create an interactive self-portrait using html and its event listeners and video features. I had a hard time with this assignment–which does not bode well for me for the remainder of the semester, if you think about it.

I first had a hard time figuring out what to do, then as I started to code it I changed directions maybe 3 times before deciding on something. Note to self for next time: plan/storyboard before starting to work. It’ll keep your brain focused.

The ask wasn’t that complicated, but for some reason it took me forever and my code just wasn’t working. I sat with both Mathura and Craig and they were both stumped with the fact my button just wasn’t reading the clicks, and hence not triggering the rest of my self-portrait. So, I have the code, and it’s supposed to work, it just doesn’t.

In short, it’s broken. Like my spirit.
